Nature’s Gatorade

This week I caught a really bad summer cold, and one of the first things I always focus on when I’m not feeling my best is hydration. Whether I’m sick, run-down, or just off, I check in with how much water I’ve been drinking, and more importantly, how I’m hydrating through food and minerals, too.

Water intake - both from pure water and nutrient-dense, high-water-content foods—plays a major role in how our bodies function. Staying hydrated helps regulate energy, flush out toxins, support immunity, and even balance mood.

When I’m looking for a boost, I turn to this electrolyte blend. It’s packed with minerals, natural sugars, antioxidants, and electrolytes. Simple, nourishing, and tastes like a treat you’ll crave even if you’re not sick!

Ingredients:

  • 1 to 2 cups coconut water

  • ¼ cup frozen blueberries

  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup

  • A sprinkle of Celtic sea salt

  • Juice of ½ lime

To make:
Blend it all together until smooth. Pour over ice or enjoy as is.
